After a very productive few weeks of riding the weather has thwarted my efforts to get in a consistent run of long (+4hrs) weekend rides. Although most of this snow has cleared we are due for a few nights of sub-zero temparatures; in the ever-prepared UK that'll mean sheet ice on all but the busiest roads.
I may find myself trying to test the limit of my turbo endurance/tolerance this weekend!!

Iain,
You still have the coolest cycling photography of any blog I've visited.
Re: my goals
I'll probably just do some time trialling in the spring, possibly a hillclimb race in the late summer, but come fall I'm supposed to be on a relay team for an ultra-endurance race. I'll probably get a 45-mile leg, which isn't too strenuous, but I want to be able to race it instead of just finishing it.
How about you? Are you racing a century this year? Cyclo-touring by the Giro?
Good luck with your weekend rides.

Cheers Mike, good to hear from you.
I've got a century+ event in April and a warm up in mid-March.
Holiday limits are making a tour to the Giro difficult this year, but even if I don't make it I'll be watching it religiously, and I don't mean just on Sundays. I can't wait to see if Lance can cut it on the really steep stuff, although looking at the route it doesn't seem to be a climber's race this year.
Good luck, and hope your turbo indurance/tolerance proves worthy!
May the snow-clad roads bear you well!
